Spreewaldring-Webapp: Faster than the police allow

In August 2024, Ben and Gino, as motorsport enthusiasts, did a few laps at the Spreewaldring. The racetrack was a real highlight, but the way there wasn't: a website that was barely usable on mobile, included complicated booking forms, and had no way to redeem vouchers digitally. 

After a conversation with the on-site team, it became clear there was great potential for a modern, digital solution. Ben and his team launched a Webapp for the track that maps the entire offering efficiently, intuitively, and future-proof. 

The challenge 

The previous platform had become technically outdated and was not optimized for mobile devices. Bookings were made via static forms, the event calendar was difficult to maintain, and vouchers could only be redeemed on-site. 

Another important point: Existing data such as event information and vouchers were indeed available digitally but were not centrally structured or directly transferable. To ensure a clean transition, this data had to be analyzed, prepared, and integrated into the new system without disrupting existing processes. 

So the challenge was not only the development of new features but also the migration of established structures into a modern, integrated solution. 

Our solution: A modern, automated platform for motorsport fans 

1. Central Webapp as a stable foundation 

We developed a proprietary web application that consolidates all processes in one place. It is individually tailored to the racetrack's requirements. 

Instead of a piecemeal solution, a system with a clear structure and an intuitive layout was created:

2. Fully automated webshop, driven by the event management 

As soon as new events are created in the app, they automatically appear in the webshop. Including available dates, prices and limits with additional benefits:

✔ Direct linking of booking and event 

Customers now book directly online and the system automatically processes the payment, updates the booking status and sends the confirmation.

3. Efficient participant and voucher management in the backend 

All bookings are processed automatically and recorded centrally in the web app. The team has access at any time to structured participant lists, payment status and relevant event data. These are clear and filterable for daily planning. 

Additionally, the app offers integrated voucher management: vouchers and discount codes can be created directly in the system and applied to bookings. Customers also have the option to purchase digital vouchers directly through the webshop.

4. Modern website with CMS integration 

The accompanying website was completely rebuilt and optimized for mobile use. Content such as track info, events and price lists can be maintained via a user-friendly CMS.

5. Data migration at full throttle 

Existing data, such as ongoing events and voucher allocations, were structured and seamlessly migrated into the new system.
